Elite Veteran Posts: 732 Location: Towcester | Been about 5 years since i was last on here, had major life changing plans ( 3 kid, new house new job etc) Which put the big plan of sorting out the GTi on the back burner for a few years. But pleased to say as of Jan this year and 4 yrs sat in a garage old subby has been shipped out to be restored. Pics etc will follow. Will be trawling the for sale section soon no doubt look for parts but hope to get the old girl running for summer. I see some of the old crew are still about Martin, Adrian, Gandi and one or two others i recall. great to see the site still going and metros/r100s too. Cheers Will aka SubbyGti

Elite Veteran Posts: 732 Location: Towcester | OH yes sadly quite a bit, not much left of the rear, biggest failure was the rear seat belt fixings and a foot wide hole just after the rear arch various holes all over, usual A pillar, sunroof etc. Will post up pics as soon as I can but the body shop has her now and all in pieces. Can't wait to get her back if honest, I know I will never get the money spent on her back but the smile driving will last a lifetime. cheers Will

Elite Veteran Posts: 732 Location: Towcester | Again very slow at updating this but finally she has passed her MOT and is back on the road. Had emission and idle problems which were all sorted once i found the inlet manifold heater wire had corroded and my CTS was knacked. Will post some pics up when the summer finally comes to the UK. But so glad to be back in the Gti, puts a grin on my face everytime. Still a few little jobs to fully finish her off, sideskirts and interior trim and a few rattles but she is legal

Elite Veteran Posts: 732 Location: Towcester | DotMatrix - 17/6/2013 12:06 AM congrats bet you cant wait to drive it. weren't you going to finish it last summer? Yes i was but as ever work got in the way, I was sent to Canada for a bit. I had hoped to make POL this year ( and last). Hard to believe but I think it's taking me about 6 yrs to finally get her back on the road. So really looking forward to making a few suttle mods etc.
