Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | So the postman brings me goodies... Again... Ignition switch & spoiler caps. One cap has very minor damage to the top right corner, where someone has chipped it prising it off the spoiler with a screwdriver, but nothing noticeable. In other news, on driving through Lechlade on my way back from work this morning (I've been signed off for a day with the man flu - sigh), I spotted this, pulled over and waited for the sign to activate again... Lechlade has the right idea! And to top it off, some bloke who lives round the corner from me has these two beasts on his driveway, as you do. A little bit jealous, I must admit, an R8 & an Evo. C*nt. Alex. Edited by scarfey 2/5/2012 10:21 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | Smaller dash insert finished... Need to whack it back in now. The larger one will need respraying as it has a few shitty bits of grit stuck in the paintwork, then it'll be ready to be stickered up and put back on my dash. Alex.

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | So I got my Torque Steer vinyl on, gonna be whacking this insert back in today Winning! But I nearly lost the 't' on 'torque' - the application plastic twisted because I accidentally let go as I was pulling the final bit off... It was all twisted up and stuck together, but I managed to save it! Alex. Edited by scarfey 4/5/2012 1:41 PM

Metro Mad Posts: 7653 Location: Tamworth, Staffs | I like the text on the inserts as it breaks them up from being a block of colour which can look heavy on its own making the dash look worse imo. R8 and Evo, you just know he's a dealer

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | Right, I need a bit of a 'To Do' list, so here it is at present, in no particular order (Will be done as and when) Spray spoiler up & fit - spoiler & caps bought. Lower it (properly!) and individualise - valves bought. Final payment on Dytecs to SRi_T (cheers for holding them) and collect - deposit paid. Tyres for Dytecs (best size if going low people?) Dytec centre caps (anyone got any?) Get buggered wheel nut off of driver front wheel (aluminium cap is knackered) Sort rear arches out Dye carpet & headlining black (Perhaps doorcards as well) GTi interior Re-seal the sunroof handle (leaks like a b*stard and I have a sock over the handle inside at the moment!) Exhaust of some description, undecided what make yet - perhaps Sportex or Janspeed. 1.4 16v conversion (just a thought at the moment) Uprate air filter Some sw4nky silicone hoses for the engine bay Smooth front & back bumper (silver strips, perhaps number plate recess on front) Re-paint boot handle, lacquer has peeled pretty bad Either colour code door strips, or tidy up the paintwork from where I removed them Rear tinted windows (not heavy, only like 40% to 50%) Colour code speedo/clock cowling Decent gearknob Shortshifter (maybe?) Some nice subtle audio in the boot to compliment my Vibe components & Kenwood headunt False floor (so the dog doesn't end up in the middle of the spare wheel constantly!) Osram Nightbreaker headlight bulbs and decent sidelights Fresh numberplates! Re-register RAWK (Looking at M777 TRO, because I'm a sad git) Uhhh... I think that's everything. Jesus that list got longer and longer the more I thought about what I could do to RAWK... Dangerous ground! If anyone has any hints, tips or recommendations with regards to anything on that list or that would be good to add to it, let me know! Alex. Edited by scarfey 6/5/2012 2:15 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | A mate of mine popped over yesterday and I tinted his rears with some of the Fly Eyes Kit I have floating around. Here's the difference (and yes, his is the two-tone VTR, not a bad colour match on the bumper! Lol): FYI, tinting saxo lights with film is a fecking nightmare, because of the slight curve where the white goes into the red from top to bottom... Pain in the arse! Alex. Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | Spoke to the paint shop on camp (I work at Brize Norton you see) and they've said they'd spray my spoiler up for me when they get a chance between RAF jobs and will give me a call when they have some free time. All I'd have to do is pay for paint & lacquer, and I said I'd prime & flat it down in advance for them. They'd even order the paint in from a local auto factors! Winning. Off to Japfest tomorrow, so will probably have some photos from that, tickets courtesy of Tickets For Troops. Alex.

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | So I washed the car today and gave it a good waxing. Didn't take any photos though because I ran out of water (I live three flights of stairs up in a block of flats and wasn't planning on going up to grab another bucket of water) and didn't get a chance to do the wheels. Lol. Nothin' much is really happening at the moment, no money to do anything with. Japfest was ace yesterday though, looking forward to Japfest 2 in July at Donington. Got the tickets for free as well, courtesy of Tickets For Troops. Soon I shall have SRi_T's Dytecs though, once I get my insurance claim through (after all these months!) Alex.

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | So, got my windscreen vinyl ordered just now from Adam Galpin (www.galpinautovinyls.co.uk). Good lad and reasonable prices! It's gonna be running vertically down my windscreen, white external, same design as my signature picture (but obviously just the lettering!). Feel free to check the site out... Absolutely winning. Charlie Sheen comedy will never get old. *EDIT* Insurance claim is nearly over, thank FECK. Edited by scarfey 24/5/2012 8:19 PM

I'm O.K. at stuff Posts: 1405 Location: Leeds - A Better City Than Yours. | Absolutely despise the word "cruise". I just associate it with the "cruise" near me.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4siaSa4XzE I'm fully aware it won't be anywhere near as chavvy as that, but it's just what springs to mind.

Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | Hmm. There shall be no c*nts driving like, uh... c*nts at my meets! But yeah, you could hardly say I was part of the 'chav' scene either, if you met me. Me currently (out of work obviously, as if the RAF would allow me to have 22mm tunnels...) One of the best days of 2011: And of course the missus: My life summed up in three photos. Well, kind'a. Hah. However, I know what you mean about the whole chav=cruise thing! Alex. Elite Veteran Posts: 768 Location: Swindon, Wiltshire | Got my South West Cruise vinyl in the post today... Gotta love it! Perfect fit as well. Gonna shift my tax disc holder over (Maybe get a nicer looking one, Richbrook or something?) On another note, I REALLY wish the solicitors would hurry up with my insurance payout so I can go and pick up my alloys from SRi_T! Alex. Alex.
