right,i am buying a gta next week and was wondering,wat will i need for this to become my next gti with regards to ecu,fob and AS unit??
as on my current one,i did not use coded equipment (just changed the ecu) and it works.my imobiliser doesnt work at the moment though.
so wat i want to know is car i just swap everthing between the two metros and it will work??i do want the immob to work if possible so wat will i need to do please.
i know it always gets brought up but i still get confused as my car set up defies wat is always said.
any help appreceated.

If you want to use a 16v ecu and keep the 5AS etc then you'll need one from a 214 16v or a 414 96 on (bubble shape) you then need to get the codes on the ECU and 5AS unit matched which can be done by Rover or most auto electrics places

so cant i just find a complete 214 then just rob the 5as and ecu and fob and thats that??plug it in and itl work??

anyone got one for sale at a nice price??i did buy a set from that metro place in bristol but they never worked and it too late to return them.
please help.

i didnt change the flywheel on my one at the moment.
see wat i mean.my car should not be running.i bought an engine off jim,and the ecu im using is from the gti that i owned.and my 5as unit and fob.....
the only problem is the immobiliser.

wat would happen if i just changed everything from my car to the gta and vice versa??
so i change the ecu 5as and fob.shouldnt that work??
please help.
