The clip at the top just flexes a little and provides tension keeping the pad forced to the 'bottom' of the caliper. Its more of an NVH concern than anything, stop the pads from rattling etc.

Is the Janspeed ZR manifold a straight fit on the Metro?

The downpipe flange needs cutting off and re-welding to suit a metro exhaust system
