My metrohad had fluid let out ... it hops aroundfue to not have the correct fluid in and it scrapes
I want the rods cut people are telling me ehat mm to cut
Bit im running 175/60! 13r
It is a big tire but there easy to get hold of and I was wondering is anyome else running these sizes if so what mm did you cut the rods and what pressure in the bottles , its been indervidulisd allready .

And when going 90+ mph the car wonders like mad steering is poor I w as hoping setting the ride hight and stiffness will help
Has anyone used diffrent balljoints or steering racks
Thanks

Complete mgf steering geometry helps with high speed stability. Tre's, steering arms and bottom ball joints. But im guessing thstd not the underlining issue here.
Im individualised with uncut mgf rear cans upfront and uncut gti rears. I also use 175/60 yoko a539's. Get a little body roll but I reckon a set of dampers would cure that.

if you asked me that flat out instead of leading me a merry dance like a right c-unit then I would have given you some bob on advice or even cut the rods for you cheap, now you can go swivel and take a little bit off at a time like the rest of us had to

all im doing is finding info im new to all of this and i was very willing for you to come out but if it made things easier i have laths and things so i could of done the rods for you in advance

Just cut 12mm off the rear rods and get mgf cans for the front then as Adam says, full mgf setup...rack, steering arms track rodends, lower balljoints and dampers. You can buy the strenghening plates off Ralph with the V8..quality

You wouldnt get much roll at all if you cut rods and trumpets down (for a similar height you have in your avatar - I removed a huge amount from rear rods and as much as possible up front and was running 600psi up front and 700 in the rear). My car handled brilliantly, was the second best handling metro I had, only surpassed by one with solid mounted subframes and TF balljoints instead of F which made a small but noticeable contribution

Yeah, same stance as my avatar. In all fairness there isnt that much roll but it is still noticeable. Only reason I havnt fitted dampers yet is because ive got a solid mounted tf frame ready to be built up (next years project)
When I eventually fit it I will be chopping the rear rods a little and increase pressure. Will also be turreting the rear.

So if im going about doing this modification
What will I need
Yellow band steerng rack ?
Mgf steering arms
Mgf bottom ball joints
And mgf trackrod ends

People say steering is quicker and has more lock ?
And will this help the handling of the car at high speeds?
Easy to fit or a pain ?

And what about steering colum ?

Thanks alot for all the help

You got it. Steering is quicker and has more lock than a gti rack but think its slightly less than a std rack. The column doesnt need changing. Its all easy to fit but take the steering rack gaiters off before you fit the rack otherwise you'll tear them.
And yeah, high speed stability is improved.
