Looking at mods for when I finally get my new car and thought how about changing the seat belts to a colour of my choice. has anyone done this? how hard would it be to change the webbing? Want to create a fully customised interior colour wise hopefully.

You would need to find someone very skilled, someone who can do coachwork.

What colour do you want? There were a few stock colours.

some MG and GTi use red.
K-series Grey,
Early mk1 Metros use black, Navy, brown, biege. Also 3 and 5 door belts are different.

I was thinking about purple as I want to go with a black main trim colour, with Purple the secondary trim colour for a stand out interior.
Hopefully fully colour code the car aswell (haven't decided whether to do outside black or purple) Also paint the strips that are in the plastic mk3 bumpers.

take them off and get some dye and bash them through the wash not sure if it would work but if it would its a cheap way of doing it

Wouldn't belts from a mini fit similar size type thing?

Come to think of it I recon most 3 point inertia reel belts will be an industry standard, similar width, length, and underneath the plastic trims they all bolt to the body in the same way.

Why not just find a car with coloured belts and see if they'll fit

The belt and buckle are the same but its the weighted spring which needs to match the metro. I think even 3 and 5 door metros differ as the 5 door springs are leaning on a angle slightly. So they wont unwind if you fit them to the wrong door metro.
