Using a hair dryer, a halogen bulb holder and a halogen bulb!

Really easy, just had to open it up to find the live and neutral wires then connect it to the bulb holder, then fit the 50w halogen bulb, I then simply siliconed it in place at the end of the dryer. Stupidly bright and will be great for finding the swirls when I'm detailing and using the rotary polisher. I'm doing my mums Honda Jazz soon that's swirled to hell.

I might have a crack at making one from an old toaster or something... the possibilities are endless... is it a toaster?... no, no it is not.

But seriously, it looks good mate, well done

generally I would just like to say LOL to the discussion here

secondly, what is a swirl? is that the scratches seen in the paint round the light in his two usage pictures?

If you have to have a torch to see these swirls, does it really matter that they're there?
