Thinking of going for a matt black bonnet and a colour-coded Gti splitter on the Rio, also thinking of removing the rubbing strips and adding b-pillar vinyls. I don't have photoshop so I did this in paint

Before:

After:

I'm definitely going for the splitter, the bonnet i'm not 100% sure on though. I have a matt black bonnet on my Gti and I think it works well.

the car has a nice color so I think you should leave the bonnet blue but defo fit the splitter.

Yeah I'll definitely do the splitter first and then make a decision. I've always liked the look of the colour coded Gti splitter on an unpainted bumper.

yeah me to. just a shame the back bumper on a standard gti is all black. it could also do with a bit of paint or something.

I'm thinking of converting the rear of mine to an a-series tailgate, lights and bumper with turbo rear arches. I'll then have to decide on whether to have colour coded arches. I think I'll probably have a black/unpainted rear bumper.

I see what you mean, and have seen pictures of this done recently in some journal on here. but I like the the round edges of the boot and tail-lights they go well with all the other round edges on a mk3-4. If you want a smaller rear bumper you could consider sourcing a poverty spec mk3 half height bumper?

Are you intending to make a porn film at the same time (lots of soft focus going on in the 2nd pic )

Matt black bonnet looks a real cheap chav mod imo

Trust me...it looked worse in sharp focus!

I think the matt black bonnet looks good on my Gti.

I think I have another idea for my bonnet that I'm gonna keep under wraps for now though

I keep seeing cars with the front wrapped in leather, quite a few new beatles have it. the tro would look decent with the front wrapped in leather i think.

His Metro isn't Tahiti blue?

Ps. There are 2 Tahitis iirc. 1 for Metros and 1 for the 100s
