Location: Israel | Hello,
What is the right procedure to refit the rear displacers? I found it quite difficult. And how to be sure, before pressurizing, that the strut and helper spring are correctly located?
Thank you |

Location: Israel | Thank you. The drawing in Haynes has a "clamp plate" and a "unit shield", while in my Metro there is only one retaining plate. In this case the displacer is initially inserted, I think, not in line with the ball-pin, and then it seems I didn't continue properly. I shall try again. |

Location: Dudley, Midlands | I've only refitted them to a K-series.
But they seemed to go go half way in and stop.
Bit of a twist and it popped in!
I had to go round the other side as the owner had same problem too.
While they're off the car, part fill them with fluid, shake them up, and drain them out!
Won't believe how much rusty sludge accumulates in them over time! |
