Elf eating dog breeder Posts: 10531 Location: Guildford | As nice as the cage looks it'd be useless in a crash, rear diagonals need to goto the top of the main loop, and it should also be alot closer to the b-pillars, otherwise a good job and nice progress, will be a nice motor when its done.

Yes the roll cage would be ok in a crash but thats not really the point of it. The diagonal bit is welded under the hoop for a reason. This is just the start, i made this basic cage just for this year while i have a low power engine. Next year i will be extending the cage to all the subframe mounts front and back to make the cage part of the car. Chassis stiffness is the future aim, hopefully im not going to be a crash test dummy, lol Thanks for the positive comments guys... its nice to show it to like minded people.

purple_metty Posts: 2165 Location: leicsestershire | I have fully built the left side suspension, now i have a problem... the bolt is totally seized in the tube that goes in the wishbone bush. I have rang most car parts places and the best i can get is one on tuesday. What a bummer, i wanted to get the engine in today
