Elite Veteran Posts: 1002 Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire | This is my new project to replace my nightfire R100 as its far to rusty to justify repairing. Anyway its brooklands green 3dr, bought it from a 84 year old lady it had been laid up in a garage for 3 years and was covered in crap but after having a good look around it looked solid so i bought it First thing i did once got it back was give it a good wash then this morning i stripped the interior to check the floor and there mint no rust anywhere! had a good look underneath and its nice and clean which im very happy about I'm going to underseal and waxoyle the underneath to keep in good shape. I will be tranfering a lot of parts from my nightfire car to this one plus i got a lot of other parts in the shed ready to be fitted. I've got a new engine lined up for it from matt a tf 135 so it will come out with a decent engine which hopefully will be end of April

Elite Veteran Posts: 1002 Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire | Removed the rear subframe yesterday which I swapped today along with my mpi's alloys for a set of team dynamics, will be putting the sunframe on from my nightfire tro on as I painted it and put all new bearings in less than 6 months ago, While the subframes out I've undersealed and waxoyled the whole rear end to stop any future rust worries going to change the rear flexi brake hoses while I'm there to.

Elite Veteran Posts: 978 Location: Walderslade, Kent | I undersealed the back of mine a few years ago too, it's kept the rust at bay which is great. I've seen some real rusty Metros (R100 GTAs mainly) with super rusty rear valences. It pays to protect and seal!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1002 Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire | Another update, Got the good subframe back on with new rear flexi pipes, wheel cylinders and new genuine droop stops with spacers, all went back in nice and easy with no problems Made a start on the rear arches my mate welded the drivers side up so far and gave it a skim of filler for now until he gets time to come finish it of and then he can do the passenger side. Also got the rear arb on along with Ralph's poly bush linkages fitted quite easy, had to use the how to guide as I've never fitted one before which helped me out a lot The inner arch had some rot so my mate cut it out and welded on a new strip of metal but forgot to get pics of the work. How it is currently should start taking shape next week The rear arb hopefully I've fitted it correctly Fitted mgf lower ball joints to my spare lower arms which will be getting fitted next week hopefully!

Transport Guru MP Moderator Posts: 4947 Location: Bromley, Kent | With the waxoyling, its so important to do it inside-out to the coat inside the voids and where panels comes together. So like inside the boot remove the side carpets and spray on the join of the inner/ outer arch and also inside the rear valance by removing the rubber bungs under the boot ledge. Looking forward to Brooklands GTi rep...
