I suppose they haven't had a very big limelight like minis and escorts ect and they don't have the scene points of vw and things like that.. they will be a distant memory soon enough!

I've never really been into the a series cars. I don't know why! But now they are growing in me more and more.. I used to have a 1380 with trick bits on in my gtm and it made a good noise! Maybe one day I'll get a few a series too!

Not yet.. I've got a mk4 mondeo in my unit for a clutch so I have had no time on the metros I did buy another one though the other day for £125. Sold the roof rack for £20 and found £25 in the ashtray! It's got 3 month mot so I'm using it as a daily for the moment

Got on with a bit tonight. Only had a few hours because she works til 9 and I have to be a responsible father and look after the kid ..
Anyway.. cut the rust out of my rear arch and got that sorted tonight
Here's what I started with! Rusted quite bad behind the triangle gusset as usual!

So I chopped it out!I hate drilling spot welds, decent spot weld drills help but still
cleaned the gusset off to use again

Then welded a plate in place

. I seam welded it inside and outside and seam welded the gusset on to stop as much water and dirt from getting behind it. Undersealed it inside and out. It's not the neatest job in the world but this car will never be concourse due to the condition it's in and my lack of ability to look after stuff!

Ordered tyres over the week end so they should be here anytime soon.. I also started on my gear linkage. So I might be able to change gear soon it's being built using a mk3 fiesta linkage for now so we will see how that goes

Watching a few videos on YouTube and I'm thinking of building a flocker.. not 100 % yet but I do like the idea of a flocked dash! And my mates are into jap crap so I think there's a potential market for flocked bits too!

Been under plenty of fiestas and always wondered if a linkage would fit from one. Look about the right size so may save cutting and welding for those who cant

I believe there are different links for different sizes of the same image in imageshack.

Well all the dash had to come back out so I could remove the heater so I could then remove the clutch pedal! Wonderful!. To top it off I saw the rear washer jet pipe sticking through and I thought I'll get rid of it! Started pulling it through then the grommet came out of the bulk head and I ripped my fingernail clean off on the dashboard mount! Right down to the nail bed.

Got a bit done tonight but no photos because it's boring lol.. swapped the rear subframe over for one that's already lowered and individualised and has droop stop spacers on.. i thought it would be quicker to just swap the lot. Got the hydraulic clutch plumbed in too, used a rear brake hose off a vectra c for a flexy from the slave cylinder, banjo bolt is the right thread for the slave cylinder which was handy! I cut a mgf pedal up and welded it to the metro pedal to operate the master cylinder
