| I'm new to this forum so thought if share my car, will upload a photo when I'm on my PC.
I have a j reg 1.4 metro gti 16v, done 40k and runs a treat, in pretty much mint condition,
It's a pretty quick car as it is but what can I do to make it quicker?
The car is completely standard at the moment with no mods,
Any ideas you have will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

In my opinion if the car is in the condition that it left the showroom in I would keep it that way. The GTi is rarely found now without someone changing it from factory spec. It's sure to increase in value with age if you keep it stock.
If you wanted to upgrade the car, the common thing people do is change the engine from the 1.4 16v which puts out about 103bhp (if it's multipoint injection) to the 1.8 vvc in either 143bhp or 160 bhp form. It bolts straight in where the 1.4 did.
or
You could make subtle gains from a better exhaust, engine remap and an induction kit.
Hope this helps

As said, 1.8 VVC k-series engine transplants are very common, check the 1.8 gallery section on the main website.
As mentioned, the K-series metros that demand the highest prices are the standard tidy Metro GTi's so bear this in mind. If you do modified it, do it in a way that is reversible and keep all the old parts. You can swap the 1.4 back in and keep all the GTi externals looking the same.
Hope to see some pictures of it! the GTi is a rare car these days!!
