I'm stuck on which wheels for my sleeper vvc metro either mgf spares on 195 45 14 or wide metro steels on 185 60 13
What would you recommend for tyre choose and price ?
The mgf steels you can get toyo proxies for £220 ish
Wide metro steels falken tyres are £140

I'd stay with 13's, cheaper tyres, look better and handle better imo.

Ok 13" it is then what tyre size are usually fitted 185 60 13 ?

Many people will disagree, but the 175/50x13 tyre is by far the best tire to fit for handling and grip. It can look small in the arch though if not lowered.

Is it true I'd need to file a bit of the radius arm for 185 tyres ?
Would 175 60 13 look ok the car will be approximately 10mm lower than standard.

You shouldn't need to modify the radius arms as gtis came with 185 tyres. you should just need the front bottom ball joints from the gti

If they're 185/60/13 then there's a chance (depending on the make of tyre) that you would need to take some material off the radius arms.

If your doing a sleeper then 185/60 r15 wide steels and a 3.9 r65u or 4.2 pg1 box to make the most of it and the increased rolling radius.

Also if using steels don't use the wide steel hubcaps use the 1.1 ugly ones for better effect

Cheers all , yet going full sleeper but carnt find the hub caps I need I'm trying to keep it standard as possible it's a 1991 c so proper poverty spec, any help on hub caps ?

Probsbkt hard to find the proper rover trims now, the early GTas had a more sporty looking set that will be even harder to get

I have rover trims think there of the later model though ,I wanted the centre caps so they just cover the wheel nuts and spray the steels silver.
