It had a 160 in it for about 3 weeks for "testing" purposes. Then we took it out (mainly because the engine was sold) and popped a slightly modded caterham spec 1.6 in it as it was going to a customer and we wanted it pretty safe but still fun for him on a day to day basis. It never swapped ends (i tried a few times)... Even when i killed it 4 years later with a vvc back in it on sheet ice it was just a huge uniform slide into a ditch and tree. We never lsd'd it as we took the school of thinking that on a mid engined road car with a short wheel base, an lsd would be very very confidence inspiring untill it wasn't, by which time most people on say a bumpy road would be in trouble. We aired on the side of caution due to learning with the similary square and short wheel based, non group 4 strats we made. Lovely car, gutted i used it in the winter now.

Please tell me you aren't planning on chopping the frozen white r100.....That looks way too nice to chop a big hole in the back end! I would love to take that car off your hands, if i had the space and a few less cars atm. Get one with a rotten rear floor and knackered rear arches for penuts. If you want i have quite a lot of development idea's, detailed pictures, measurements and wide arch rear bumper mold if you are really serious about it. I would love to see one live again! Btw i have just dropped a txt to a mate with a 16v mini that i did for him who may be interested in your mems 2vvc engine.

Yea killed by the muppet currently typing..... Yea I remember meeting you mate you had some good idea's, but i am afraid i am now in Worcestershire 50miles south from where i used to be. Any info you need i can give you and i can tell you every detail about the car should you wish to do one the same. As far as the arches go, the molds are still at talon but were outside and last time i saw them, in need of one hell of a lot of work to get them useable again, as they were only a thin temp crash repair mold. They may have even been cut up and chucked (As that kind of thing has annoyingly happened before). I have the only remaining wide arches fitted to my car tho, so if you are stuck we could take a mold off them. Love the white tro tho

If it were me I would use mgf steel wheels, turn the back to a van type with covered windows and boot lid, have a quiet induction setup and have a rwd sleeper

Awesome sounds like a good plan to me Its going to be good to see another one . Although i would put a proper tf suspension all round if i were you, as mine was only tf on the rear and i am pretty sure it would make it handle even better than it did. Although Dudley is likely to disagree.....As he seems to love hydrospastic for some reason (probs cost). I still have the pedal box with the modified clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder if you want to save yourself a tiny bit of work. Also i would mount the rear subframe half an inch lower than we did and use the same sized wheels all round rather than a mismatched 14" on the front 15" on the back set up. Good luck, i am looking forward to the build .

Is this like what you mean to build earlier in this thread - a rear drive Metro with a 200BHP motor I believe?
