My daughters R111 failed it's MOT and sadly it's not economic for us to pay to get it through.

I don't have time to do the work but it isn't beyond DIY.

What would you do, sell it, give it away, take it to the scrapman?

Scrap is £15-£30 a tonne atm so pointless scrapping. Offer it on ebay or to the forum for £100 as even for spare parts, a 111 has nothing particularly rare or desirable on it. You may find a member near you that could weld it up for a good price?

I don't have any photos, the car is parked at my daughters boyfriends place as it is out of MOT and no longer taxed.
It would return a good profit to some one breaking it or repairing it.
I have broken lots of cars in the past but currently don't have the time, space or enthusiasm.

£15 is better than nothing
I did put up a for sale thread but it got deleted (no idea why) so I guess here isn't the place to advertise.
I have welding qualifications and equipment so am not going to pay someone else to do it.
TBH my daughter has loved the freedom this car gave her for the last 4 years but now she is finished in higher education and is working in a decent career she has decided it's time to get a newer car. She would happily drive the car to the local scrapman tomorrow and move on but I feel it would be a shame just to do that, the 100 is becoming a rare car, on the road or in the scrap yard so would like it to go somewhere a bit better than the crusher, even if that is someones spares pile.

IF you do decide to scrap try and remove the cat (30-40 quid on its own scrap) starter, alternator (about a fiver each) battery (atleast 4.50+) and the rad is at least 8 quid depending if its a copper or ali rad..

Some think its not worth the effort removing them, but I do for a few more beer tokens. They make money on scrap, so I wana make as much as I can giving it to them

I'm not afraid to break a car -
I just don't have time or space and I'd spend more time than it's worth selling of parts, locally a cat is worth under £10.

My daughter didn't want the car to go and die in a scrap yard so she has given it to the local fire brigade so it will serve a purpose before it dies.

A lot of cars go this way. My daughter's bent-subframe Fiesta MK4 went to the fire brigade via a local scrappy. Bit of a "Viking burial" for it I thought. As for other old "fun" cars I've owned I generally scrap them as it solves the problem quickly and frees up space for another. An old, undriveable car is of no use whatsoever.
