Morning all,i have a 86 MG Metro just dying to get out on the road when summer arrives for shows etc! but her wheels are taking some real work 'trying' to refurb them after too many visits to the curb![bless the old boy ex owner] so im considering fitting something aftermarket instead, something Retro. Revolutions, compomotive, minilight etc but im not spending silly money, anyway from what ive read the metro uses a different offset to the far more popular mini for which all of the above are readily available, and the metro doesnt take kindly to anything remotely wide! so anyone got any experiences or any pics or anything that might help in finding something to grace the mighty metro this year? :-]

cheers mark

If thats the case the lattice X spoke turbo wheels are prob easiest for you to get hold of.

TBH they were my first thought but i dont think were ever fitted on my model year were they? ive only ever seen them on the later models with the octagon decals all down the side [88on??] like this? http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=metro+mg+wheels&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1024&bih=653&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=TrhLn5KrjS0boM:&imgrefurl=http://www.thefullwiki.org/MG_Metro&docid=HxKaOxAoEWyFbM&itg=1&imgurl=http://images-mediawiki-sites.thefullwiki.org/04/1/2/1/94799042713596785.jpg&w=220&h=157&ei=15lPT9eBMIa48gPPm-DwBQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=799&vpy=363&dur=1058&hovh=125&hovw=176&tx=68&ty=68&sig=107379030714394193629&page=3&tbnh=125&tbnw=176&start=28&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:11,s:28 i thought about them but not sure they'd be correct for the period. not that most people would notice, but id know

get the lattice lace style, they suit the metro as good as the turbo wheels

your car looks really tidy,

might be worth reberging the orignal wheels for the standard look.

also you can pick up the cross spoke alloy wheels from the 1988 to 1989 MG Turbo and 1275GTa metros for around £50 to £100 a set on ebay which is what I ahve done to my 1982 MG metro 1300.

HTH

cheers mate, i was always hoping to refurb the oe wheels tbh could do with another set so i can them when ive got the time

cheers mark
