Every so often my engine will cut out and the battery light will come on. The engine will turn over really fast and I have had the battery tested and that's fine. Eventually it will start back up again. Any ideas what this problem could be? Maybe a problem with the ignition?

What car/engine is it?
Carb or injection, proper coil or coilpacks?
Mine was a dying coil when I had similar.
Take a spare plug with you, next time it happens, plug it in and check for a spark.
If you have nothing when it's turning over, but a spark when it starts, there's your answer!
