I wish I thought of replacing the exhaust for my brace but I made spacers and it catches a bit now

Cars just hit 58K and I've killed the original clutch!

First time I've ever removed a gearbox and changed a clutch!

Cleaned up inside the bellhousing.

Old clutch out and checked the flywheel and it looked fine.

Wonderful clutch alignment tool!

New old stock unipart clutch aligned and in!

When I removed the subframe arm to get the box off I noticed that the bolts where pretty corroded so I got some new ones from Rimmer bros.

Got the box back in fairly straighforwardly! Split one of the inner Cv boots trying to get the longer driveshaft back in so replaced it along with the outer CV boots on both driveshafts as they were looking a bit tired! Eventually got it all back together and thankfully it all works and I now have a clutch again

I replaced the last front subframe mount that I didn't get round to doing when i changed the others 3 to solid MGTF mounts, I didn't have enough of the correct bolts at the time.

While I was at it I replaced the mounting bolts with these ones from a kit I got from ebay:

Also replaced the track rod ends and the n/s upper hub balljoint.

Replaced the rusty old battery clamp with a new one!

I replaced the straps that hold the rear hydragas units with some of Ralph's stainless ones.

Goes well with the stainless anti roll bar clamps!

MOT has run out so need to get that done at the weekend!

Passed MOT with no advisories for 2nd year running!

Also fitted new lambda sensor, new handbrake cable and had the tracking done.

Well the last little job I did before selling the Rio was to fit some blue rear seatbelts that I got off ebay:

The last pics I took before I sold it!

I'm now without a Metro for the first time in Ten years!
