As we expand and plan to re-new our web page/portal and possibly forum, we have decided to recruit more Admin into our circle.
They were meticulously chosen out of a big list of candidates... Each of the new Admin will bring something new into the fray.
Please Welcome our new Admin.
Miller, Pietaster, R100_vvc and mini-mad-Craig.
A mixture of mechnical knowledge and long standing membership will help our admin team help with your queries on such topic and also help us draw up more guides and helpful info.
Thanks All
Admin.

I take it the existing 'Admin' are being binned as they don't bother logging on, let alone administering anything?

And when have these members last used this place?
Granted Shaun has been here lately but cant remember the last time anyone else logged on.
None of you admin care about this site imo. When a new member signs up one of you pops along and points them in the direction of the facebook group and away from this place

Ding for admin i think there on about opening a new forum so its better for use on phones, just with facebook people find it easier to ask a question on there as they get a notification when its answered/replied

We're still here in spirit worry not, although admittedly Facebook has carried the flag for Metropower more recently. God I need to update my journals.

My dog in the corner comment still stands. You sound bitter ding would you like a big hug?
We're going to get ourselves a new site and forum soon that will link both Facebook and your beloved sacred forum.
Be patient lad

Bitter? Over what? I wouldn't be admin even if it was offered. Although it would be handy to ban a few, you included.
Or do you mean because you have 'friends' on that facebook shit?

I'm with Ding on this one.

Facebook and all the spanners that use it ruined forums and the internet in general.

I think the 'dog in the corner' comment is a bit rich coming from someone who rules by proxy. So now you're linking the 2 together and we're expected to whoop in excitement? Ever heard the phrase quality over quantity? The fact you use terminology like 'beloved sacred forum' shows your lack of regard for users and can, at best, be described as vexatious and dismissive.

I suppose the forum will get spammed with pictures of people's dinner and pictures of LOLCATS now? I could piss my knickers with excitement.

Well, I see the forum hasn't lost its humour at all...

I'd just like to point out the forum would be gone forever if it wasn't for us "vexatious and dismissive" admin.

I'm sorry you both feel that way, but we're doing all we can to save the forum being closed down entirely.

Humour. Sarcasm, banter and all the terms in-between.

Please note all of our efforts, without us you'd be left without anything at all... We worked so hard to get it back online...

the fact these guys are doing anything at all for the forum is a good thing and should be applauded, they could simply let it die and just use facebook. It'll be very odd using this forum with a new look though as its been in its current guise for well over ten years and I will miss it when it changes

Like they have done for years you mean?

Sorry but Facebook is INTERNET based. What's the excuse for why they could bother with 1 INTERNET site but neglect the one they were staff of? As a staff member, I'd expect them to contribute, participate and promote a forum, not simply come along with a set of jump leads at the end and demand respect which, in my time, they haven't merited.

this site takes a lot more time and crucially money than facebook does to keep in check. I can see why they have let it slide a bit, especially with a dwindling user base and how easily accessible facebook is.

They do it all for free too so I cant see how anyone can moan - it is what it is

I'm glad we're finally getting a decent update to the forum. It may be better in the long run for users, especially if it's easier to upload photos. Then we might all update our journals more often

The world has changed a lot around us since the glory days of the forums and it is an interesting balance between the immediateness of Facebook vs the structure and search a forum brings.

While things were working it's probably fair to say it was easier to leave things as-was and see where people moved towards. Since the hosting drama it's made the site refresh more of a pressing issue.

Can't promise the new site will be perfect for everyone, such is the joy of web design but it should solve a few of the issues / feedback that have been mentioned and give us some additional options going forward
