Well since it's coming up to going to collect parts I thought it be a good idea to start keeping a journal of modification and stories I will be doing to the Rover 100.

This is in the first week of ownership a couple of photo's, Memories if you will of bringing her home. More will follow just eager to start this up. I'm into detailing so forgive me for using the local car wash just wanted a quick tidy up

First Morning off to the local jet wash before work to give her a little tidy as covered in road dust and grime from the short 100 mile journey compared to the other 600 going to look at others lol

Never had a puncture in 10 months of driving owned this two days and this happened. Not even a joke I punctured the new tyre the next day lol

Out for her first drive, Compared to my old Peugeot 307 it's way more fun to drive you really have to drive instead of just sitting back

Thank you guy's but I'd love to have a sunroof lol, She has been welded though both back arches so not original, The driver side more so and has literally just been keyed down the passenger side which I need to sort out

I know I was gutted when I saw it, It's not as clean as it looks in the photo believe me lol. Passenger side rear arch is bubbling and around one of the windscreen wipers too. Is that your Metro in your Avatar I really like the colour and stance of it to be honest, But with these Metro's you get what you can I guess. Mine was £650

Guess it's one of those never ending saga's with Metros. Think after I get the few bits I want fitted to her I'll get the paint sorted as it's a big let down for me really. More importantly the ride height is was to high for me but getting the hydrogas sorted out along with the alloys as first things I'm doing

No unfortunately, Ended up on the side of the motorway with a flat tyre. Checked the spare which was already chalked with a whole in the side wall. Wasn't happy. Not sure I'll be getting them now as just haven't got the time really, I took a day off work for the trip. Did get a set of HID's fitted and Cherry Bomb back box fitted. I'll add photo's where soon

Thank you, Going to do the MightyCarMods Spare Tyre Sub next I think. Got a Sub box already but loved the spare wheel idea. Some new mudflaps arrived from RimmerBros to fit.

Ordered replacement wheel trims which have transformed the look really. Doesn't look like it's been curbed within a inch of it's life anymore. Not sure whats next looks wise other than getting it lowered and new tyres

The below was taken from the dept for transports website:

"In summary it is not permitted to convert a halogen headlamp unit for use with hid bulbs..... The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs"

Ifaik, Also I think the headlight units have to be auto levelling as well.
It isn't just that you feel safer because you can see better, the poor sod coming towards you cant, hence the self levelling units.
The fuzz are are cracking down on this.

Thanks dude, There's two what I can only call adapter ring's on the rear of the headlight unit which I have filed down before fitting the HID kit to give more of a downward angle to the light. Only reference I can make is that I was sitting behind one of those two seater SMART Roadster's ( Mates ) and the lights aren't shining through the car as there pointing so low. I'm hoping that as the HID's don't 'white' out the headlight ( Only on Photo's they do ) The projection is safe and not blinding. For me its the new 4x4's with running lights and literally white light their blinding at night especially.

I've done an oncoming test with someone else driving my car and me in another and there not bad at all just light the road up but don't have that I can see the element look about them

An update but a non update really lol, I got a Vauxhall Zafira Spliter from my local scrap yard and tried to have ago at fitting it last night. It fits the shape of the bumper well but couldn't get it to stay attached to the bumper I was thinking of using 'No more Nails to keep it attached then no holes in either and should stay attached or what way's do you guy's use?

I've got a laguna splitter on mine and I had to cut it up a bit to get the shape. as for attaching it I just used small self tapping screws on the inside as you can't see them and it's nice and strong
