Standard disc, could maybe squeeze it out to 145mm but it is so tight inside a gti wheel.

Hope everything is ok with you. Missing the regular updates on your build! I know what an upheaval moving can be since it put an end to a 2 litre Red Top Mini I was building at the time Looking forward to your next posting and hope your fantastic progress can be maintained.

What is the exact spec of the willwood caliper, if you have the part number that would be good.

Any more detail pics of the mounting brackets and sizes.

Details of brake pad used.

Really keen to get a set of these.

They are wilwood powerlites for vented discs. TBH showing a picture of the bracket is not going to help you, I have an ally template and I'm sure if there is enough interest I could sent it to ralph. They are going to be used with poly A pads, but not used them before. I used to have the poly Q pads in the wilwoods I had on my punto gt.

I've spoken to Ralph he said he will make them.

Can you send the template to him?

Can't remember off the top of my head, they're either 8727/28/29. The difference is only the piston area, disc thickness is the same for these three. I will try and dig out the ally template and get it sent to Ralph, but it will be a couple of weeks - I'm away on a course on Sunday for two weeks, then two weeks later away on another course for two weeks. I will also have to liaise with Ralph.

Just wanted to jump in, Jason, I cant believe I missed this build to date.
fooking greatness!

Short of rear mounting an RB26 and chopping up an AWD transmission set, its hard to picture how anyone could co much further with modification on a tro.
Nice one brav!

Well back from doing Olympic g4s are shite bollox, bought and put up a 8x4 shed in the garden to shift stuff out of the garage. So now shortly will be able to start doing work on the car again - in between starting my BSc in Engineering Management.

Well actually did some work on the car today - started on the exhaust manifold. The manifold I am starting with is a Maniflow one, it's not finished yet, but I've got the first part of the secondaries done.

Finished of the manifold today, but only tacked the bit i did today - waiting for a clutch slave cylinder bracket to arrive before I final weld it.

Also made up a frame work for the splitter to fasten to, as opposed to fastening it to the bumper like it is on the current race car. Also weld in a bracket to fasten a towing strap to as well.

Just a thought, with the amount of (what looks like a lot) room behind the engine, have you considered
tilting the engine back a lot more so as to get the C of G further back between the wheel base?, it would
obviously mean re locating the block on the box, and oil scavange pickups, anything stopping you from
fabricating a new inlet manifold to suit?. I would imagine with the shell being very light, and having a
overhanging engine, standing on the brakes will lift the rear wheels, seeing as the std engine angle is
forward by 12deg (PG1 box fitment), even going back by 24deg (to make 12 deg lean back) would make a difference.
Great build btw.

I've got the engine back as far as it will go, it is sitting about 1.5-2 inches lower and the engine is tilted back moving the head back by about 1-1.5 inches. I know what you mean about rotating the block around the gear box and manifolds wouldn't need modification - but I don't have the skills/facilities to weld ally, which I would have to do, if I wanted to move the bolt holes for the gearbox. I'm fitting the dry sump tank behind the gearbox, which will actually sit it inside the cabin. This will help me shift weight, as well as having the seat further back and over to the left.

my 57mm exhaust pipe has arrived. 2m length of straight and a 90deg bend. Got silencers and additional bends to order. Also ordered a tube expander so I can slip joint it.
