Member Posts: 66 Location: Torbay, Devon | Bought this a few days ago from a lad who had 4 vehicles. I believe his intention was to take it to the Nurburgring and maybe some track time inbetween. For whatever reason he never got round to it and it just sat gathering dust for a good few months in his garage. It came up for sale and I had to have it as selling my first Metro was a big regret. So it's an ex race car. Full weld in cage, fuel tank and battery in the boot, Corbeau bucket seat, Willans 5 point harness, perspex windows, 2 sets of wheels wrapped in Yoko Advans, grooved discs and a silly amount of things lost in the pursuit of lightness. Engine is a 143 VVC which is pretty much standard. I paid £800 for this puppy and don't think I've ever been happier about handing over that sort of money, my first task is get it through MOT, failure thread here: http://www.metropower.org.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=80195&posts=3 Then probably just give it some TLC with fresh parts and servicing before I dive into modifying further, not even sure what I wanna do with it. Any ideas? haha Also, this is my only vehicle so gonna be my daily driver Anyway, here she is ^.^ Side note: This is in the car, wondered if anyone knew anything about this kind of racing? New user Posts: 14 Location: Lincolnshire | The hot hatch series was run by the 750mc as a modified version of stock hatch but they dropped hot hatch in 2009 due to dwindling numbers. Stock hatch continues at http://www.750mc.co.uk/formulae/stock-hatch.htm

New user Posts: 14 Location: Lincolnshire | No I can't really remember but stock hatch was limited to 1.4 multi valve or 1.6 2 valve per cylinder. Hot hatch had four classes A: Modified Front Wheel Drive cars 1601 – 2000ccs. B: Modified Front Wheel Drive cars up to 1400ccs and 1401 – 1600ccs with weight limits as per 5.14 of these regulations. C: Modified Rear Wheel Drive cars up to 2000cc D: Standard Front or Rear Wheel Drive cars up to 2000cc Theres a 750mc facebook page they might be able to give you more info or maybe some members even remember the car/driver.

Member Posts: 66 Location: Torbay, Devon | I've joined the FB page aha, thanks for that. My MOT retest is on Monday, all problems with it have been resolved apart from the rear brakes. The brake fluid reservoir was low so topped it up and I'm hoping that will sort it, however, this has resulted in the fluid/handbrake light coming on, so wondering if anyone knew an easy way to whip it out for MOT? Haha I haven't had a look so don't know if it's a particularly obvious thing to do. If all goes well then will be able to post more pics and goings on. Side note: Tyre penned my Advans today, will get pics on car as soon as

Member Posts: 66 Location: Torbay, Devon | She passed MOT the other week, removed some of the sponsor stickers (they weren't bloody paying haha), put some ebay special yellow tint on headlights and got the matching set of wider wheels on...passenger bucket seat is next on the list, the missus does occassionally need a ride it turns out, whoops!

formerly p319 hok Posts: 1965 Location: Under a car somewhere | Well zip ties in an accident are the difference between you going to hospital or being scrapped off the tarmac with a spade ! If its attached to the door bar with the wrap around method (like your shouldee straps over a harness bar on a cage) that would be very daft indeed, theres nothing I can see to stop that loop sliding forward, so you could 'submarine' under the bottom of the harness and end up in the footwell it needs securing to a single point - unless you dont like your passengers - but if someone were to get hurt youll get your balls cutoff in court for that, the wrap around trick only works when the bar its being wrapped around goes 90 degrees to the way youll pull against the strap so that harness should be heading for the floor - but i cant see it going past the seat

Member Posts: 66 Location: Torbay, Devon | Are you serious? It's buckled on properly, as above, the cable tie is holding the excess out of the door. I was joking but obviously the term, 'live and let live' has escaped you sir ^.^ Sorry to be so aggressive but sick of people ranting about sh*t I do, if I wanted to hold it in with cable ties I would and it would be awesome

Member Posts: 66 Location: Torbay, Devon | Small update: gti wheels are now highlighter pink yo! I like black wheels, or bronze...nice and mature, smart etc...however, to me, this is a bat shit crazy piece of sh*te road racing slag and it had to have bright wheels! I went with pink, thinking about doing the other side a different colour like green soon Love it or hate it?
