I tried and failed..I can't get them to go white..I can just about do anthracite..

Yeah, I think gloss black works well against the charcoal bodywork. If the car was gloss black I think anthracite or charcoal wheels would have looked better, but it's not, so keep them black, just do a better job than when they were done last time
