Have had chance to do a few more tasks on the car.

Firstly i stripped nearly all of the interior to have a good look and clean, aswell as run my wiring kit for my amplifier. Whilst i was there i had a check over the SCU unit and sealed it up - although i do need to remove the aircon again as the bung didnt seat correctly.

I ran the power cable down the passenger side with the cable for the CD changer (although that is redundant) so its all looks nice and OEM, which is what i wanted!

Install 1 by Pandy100, on Flickr

To keep with the OEM theme i dremeled out the cable hole on the side of the fusebox inside the engine bay and routed the power cable through there

Install 2 by Pandy100, on Flickr

I havn't taken any finished shots (either that or they are on the other computer) but its nice and neat in the boot.

Next task was to fit my new Black Ash dash facia from a Rover 25. Always like these and found some cheap on ebay so thought why not! Next plan is to possible look at the 25 black interior bits like the gaitor surround and vents.

DSC03834 by Pandy100, on Flickr

Then today my new (to me) wheels turned up. I bought them mainly because they have tyres with plenty of life left, whereas the ones on the car currently are getting very low and its MOT time soon. They were painted satin black (i did know this) and was told they had some kurb marks but knowing that i had about 10 cans of satin black at home it was a win win situation as i could tart them up when i got them - which i did!

They are by no means perfect but very much acceptable until i decide what to do wheels wise.

Finally just wanted to show off abit with a nice clean picture and my sticker which i have had on a while....relates

Nice. Really like the dash of the MK2, and MK2's in general if they're in subtle colours like yours

I've Got a set of Rover 25 black ash doorpulls if you're interested.

If you do some fishing on EBay Germany and you might be able to turn up a black ash/leather steering wheel. I saw them when I sourced the walnut one I had in my ZR. Don't believe they were ever available in the UK

It needs some sort of drop, maybe in time

I had some time so stripped it out, a few people have told me i needn't have bothered but its all nice and neat now so i dont mind

The next job on the list is a new gear knob and some more black ash goodies

Looks sweet... Ive got a set like that shod with R888's

Do yourself a favour and get Coil-overs. AVO lowering springs are cheap, look great and are 'okay' on track (wollow a bit but lower centre of gravity) but on the road they will ruin your life!

Id love to see it with standardo ZR lamps i have to say... i know its a Trophy model but unfortunately the Chav light status ruined the look of the lights. (Rare red background ones look good tho )

Seen the ZR knob on Rimmer Bros for £20?

I would only go coilovers or at the very least Eibach X Powers but they dont provide a big enough drop, definitely dont want AVO springs ive heard they can be abit harsh .

I like the rear lights but i can see where you are coming from, the Red ones were remade recently for a group buy on MG-Rover.org but im not prepared to pay £90 for a set of lights tbh.

I have seen that knob but not sure its push on or screw on, any ideas?

When i researched it Eibach were near pointless in terms of drop. The AVOs arent harsh themselves...its the fact that it gives the shocks a hard time as they are too long with the short coil bound springs! The stance looks soooo good tho!

It would be good to see the standard lights in.. think it would look spot on. I paid about £10 for mine posted lol! worth a look but it what you like at the end of the day.

Well early ZRs were screw on... Later ones (one piece bumpers/splitter) onwards were push-on i believe. Screw on ones used to fetch a fortune for 200/25 ZRreplicas!

Liking the sticker, very neat

While you're looking round the dash check your pollen filter, saw a thread on the ZR site about it the other day and mine was filthy as well... for 6 quid could make it much nicer in summer if fresh air coming through the vents.

On MG-Rover.org they had a new run of red trophy lights made, might still be available. As for looking chav... it's a ZR it defines chav!

agree with Ade on the lights now, as you have dark wheels, everything is too dark and boring, needs a hint of colour like standard lights but its also down to colour of the car and other additions that make the lighs work well, like say on Xpower grey

Had the Eibach springs on my ZR D, although on paper they are only (from memory) 10mm drop they improved the ride quaility no end. Not sure they'd be as big an improvement on the MK2 as they are so much more comfy out of the box than the MK1. That little drop looks good on 17's though while not taking you down in the gutter with the little boyracers

Silver wheels are back on, with thanks to Matt for sorting the tyres out today

Car looks much brighter and cleaner (even if it is filthy) so they will be staying.

Also thanks to Julie for my Blach Ash door handles which look great

Fitted my new rear badge yesterday as the original one has started to fade and has chipped over the years. Another small mod but one that was worth it (again thanks to Matt for sourcing it for me )

And it was looking a little dirty so i gave it a wash, which turned into a mini detail including wax topup

Going against what i have said above, the plan is to order some AVO Black springs next week, whether or not I'll like them is another story but it needs a drop I have a few days to change my mind but it's either those or the Xpowers and they simply don't drop it enough
