Hi there, thought I would start a journal for my 89 city. I purchased her in the summer of 2011 for the grand sum of £100 and a Xbox 360. The car had been off the road or nine years when I bought her and has done 70,000 miles. When I got the car it was put in to storage until I had the time to do her justice. She sat there until earlier this year when I decided it was the right time. Over that time I had acquired some parts that I am going to fit. Here is the metro as it stood when I got it. It the car is solid and requires no welding.

I then managed to get hold of a set of alley cats with tyres for a decent price.

Got a mg carpet to replace the ripped one for £2.

Underneath the bonnet. Has been tidied up now.

Picked up these Revos for £30 with brand new tyres. Planning putting them Body coloured or Cream.

I have being offered a 998 that has being ported and polished and has a big valve head with a big SU for a very reasonable price so that may be going in her soon.

Love those Alleycats

That's a very unusual colour, never saw much in that really dark maroon back when these were new. Were more Rover 213 about in that shade than any other BL cars

Yeah the colour was only available on metros for a year so I have been told, not sure if that's true or not but the paint code CPA was only available for a year.

I genuinely love the colour of the interior! The same as the interior in the corgi models I've got!

Are you missing the clock from the dash or is it just out to get to some wiring? I've got one of those clocks if you need it.

A neighbour had a Mini Mayfair that colour with the same beige plastic and seats. Had an 1100 A Plus motor on an autobox, which were made in very limited numbers also

Chrome door handles would suit this I think. Nice build, different.
