| Hi Guy's n Girls.
May I introduce ourselves as Dave, Bridget & Callum to MetroPower.
We are the proud owners of a 1990 1.4 SL Metro H506CBA.
My Laguna has recently died and after some great deliberation, we decided on a Metro. We owned a 1.3 MG Metro (Y reg) back in 1994 and after I saw a few for sale I thought it would be good to go retro.
We live in Bishop Auckland and with the Grand Kids in tow, we came (to Bradford), we saw and we bought. I changed the insurance (the car was taxed) and off home we drove.
It was then I thought... Hmmm No spare water, no tool box, no AA cover, no spare wheel (it was flat), a car full of kids with the wife behind, on the M671... WTF have I done.
Chewy - we bought him on Star Wars Day and his number is CBA - was great. Brakes needed bedding in, but we were cooking on gas - gas mark 7 (even 8 at times) keeping up with the traffic; overtaking cars and lorries; 106 miles and no issues.
It brough back so many memories of my Metro Piggy.. Bridge drove him today and just the same thoughts. A go-cart.
Now its the turn of my youngest. He's comming up to 16 and he needs car exposure.. Fixing, Fettling and Fooling around ready for his life of motoring. Both my girls drove my last Metro Piggy and now its his turn with Chewy. There has been quite a chat on facebook today about him.
