In honour of an old member, it should be called 'the beater II'
as in one litre, egg beater

looks like a very nice example yes how is the rear legroom in an a-series more-door compared to the 3-door?

Awww... he's popped his A-series cherry! (and publicly too!?!)
Soon be feeling the love...
and looking to ditch the other one...
maybe doesn't look as good now, or go as well as the younger one...
but there's a lot to be said for the older model... more reliable for a start!!
(I THINK I'm still talking about cars!?!)

as I suppose its an a+ engine you can pretty much take the dizzy and alternator from any other a+ engined car. the dizzy's all have a advance curve that is a bit different, but most will be pretty ok I think. there are two different starter motors and whether or not you need the early inertia type or the later pre-engaged type depends on how many teeth you flywheel has, if your car is a mk2 it will very likely need the pre-engaged starter type.

my high compression 998 has the normal cast inlet and exhaust combination, the exhaust part is like any other a-series dual-exit exhaust but the inlet manifold is sized for a hif38 carburettor which it also has. I see no problem in fitting a hif44 carburetor and manifold if that is what you have, but then you will have to figure out what needle to use (My guess is you need the needle BER or BEJ which is almost the same and which is what is standard fitted to the normal 62bhp 1273 a+ metro engine)
