Having a flick through ebay for no real reason but spotted this elise.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-LOTUS-ELISE-RED_W0QQitemZ4608742459QQcategoryZ43114QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And noticed it hasnt got a VVC inlet manifold, does this mean it hasn't got the 160bhp engine? marc

no it doesnt have the vvc engine, it states a 160 bhp conversion which probably includes throttlebody, cams, headwork and ecu.

Not sure about the 160bhp bit...i wouldnt think it could make 160 without a vvc inlet anyway

Top of my wish list tho...only with the toyota lump instead, 190bhp standard...me want Fantastic to drive

An elise would be lovely, a proper replacement for the metro for me - little and light, nothing you dont need. I'd go for a S1 and bolt on all my engine goodys.

Only thing im not keen on with the Toyota lump is its extreme peakiness, 6k before it starts shifting. Mind you, a decent ecu sorts that in no time so i hear.

They're not bad down low but certainly bit more of a kick up the arse when it gets up the rev range Not such a smooth transition as a vvc but 190bhp to start with isnt bad

I guess it wouldnt be as bad in such a light car, the only experience i have with one is in a corolla.

Elises are awful, I don't know what all the fuss is about the handling etc etc. Yeah, they are agile, but I've seen and driven alot better, and the brakes IMO are garbage, and uncomfortable for someone over 6'3" like myself. As for an S1 Exige, that is one car I would have, in orange

Nobles's are great, I test drove a few before getting the Cerbera, they were a bit out of my price range back then though. Nobles have Metro door handles inside and out!

Did that particular one have roller-barrel TB's as opposed to the standard VHPD TB's? Numberplate looks very similar to one I did a swap on a couple of years back

Tan/Rich, get the Noble, even an early 2.5l version is evil, I know of one for sale that needs a new front clamshell, wheels and trim parts and tidying up after a trackday incident, ants about £18k I think
