We had a 2001 m3 in the garage the other day, it was dropping to bits through rust. Shocking considering the price of the things

Ford kA's are terrible, micra's too for that matter

We had a x type in for a wheel refurb. X reg, wasn't too bad if I'm honest. A few consumables (drop links etc) but nothing major

my girlfriend has an 's' reg fiesta which has bad paintwork, rotten arches, sills boot and wings.

my mother has an 'r' reg polo with average paintwork, rotten arches, sills wings and quarter panel.

I have an 'r' reg 100 with excellent paintwork, good (not perfect) arches, rotting sills and valance lips.

all similar age and both the polo and fiesta are in much worse condition than the 100. goes to show there are much worse 'rot boxes' out there than metros.

106's are bad for rot too. mates s2 rallye looked gorgeous on the outside but looked asif it had been dipped in saltwater underneath.

indeed, you always see a massive black weld patch on the sills on micras below the B pilar on K to 52 reg shape.

Lots of older ford kas sills have been welded again why many round here have underseal as the lower half of the car. TBH most kas in my local scrappy and through rust behind the arch covers, petrol cap, sills.

Mind you the Saxo is pretty bad foor sill, boot floor and engine bay rust!!

But thats not ruling out the metro as one of the worst cars for rusting on the roads currently!

My uncle had a Y reg BMW 3 series coupe that was rusting round the arches. My mate had a M reg MK3 fester diesel that was as rusty as a jews wallet hinge, you could kick it round the sills and back valance and hunks of rotten metal would fall off.

Ford Ka's are absolutely terrible for rusting considering their age, I see loads of 02-06 cars with rotten door posts, sills and filler caps.

The ford KA has got to be the worst but I guess its a dated design, E46 BMWs are starting to rot away with some bad problems on the coupes, early 2000 Mercs seem to be bad and my 6 year old MK5 Golf GTi has a rotten wing which is aparrently a common problem and appears to have been 'bondo'd'
