Need some new door cards etc. I notice a few people have coupe seats too which look good and seem like they would offer a fair amount of support. The Coupe seats are identical shape to the Metro GTi ones so no change in feel or support, they are black which always looks good though and have a rear pocket on the back for maps, books etc. subframes needs swapping, theres a guide on the main site. Personally i'd keep your half leather Metro seats as its alot of work just for a colour change. The critics back in the day said the original mk1 metro which all had black dash, belts, seats, etc made the cabin look very small, hence why they soon changed to grey!

Over years of trying different combinations I think I've found the optimum, black Coupe seats with grey dash \ leather inserts, GTi doorcards (with the black bottom section) and black plastics. Haven't got any recent pics apart from this one...

Elite Veteran Posts: 664 Location: Herts | Thanks guys exactly what I was after The crappy plastic trims along the bottom of the sills have fallen off on mine as the self tappers are no longer big enough, thought about changing the door seals to those with a flap round the outside to go over the carpet instead.

Expert Posts: 2568 Location: Up in the lakes | I agree with gshaw. Rover 820 vitesse recaro half leather seats, black carpets, full black plastics, 114 gta silverstone doorcards and rear bench (to match seats), black parcel shelf, gti b pillar covers, mgf rear view mirror and black textured dash inserts. Imo all that makes a metro interior pretty modern and spotty.

Just realised my mistake, thanks for pointing that out ding. Spotty, sporty or stripy doesnt matter. What is important is that the seats are made from 10% leather and 90% wool. There you go bud, another use for sheep. And yeah, the recaro's are soo Comfy. Wouldnt swap them for anything! Edit: whos got your recaros now Jon? Didnt azz have them and couldnt get on with them? Must be getting pretty rare now. Edited by GTaddz 6/3/2013 2:07 AM

Door cards are custom made by Jabba (or his mrs) Think its just black vinyl covering the stock door cards. Probably some better pics on his old journal (linked on the first post of my journal - Mundays GTi vvc160 or something)

Expert Posts: 4262 Location: Tebworth | Azz had them, but I'm not sure if he kept them or not. I had both silverstone gti and gta door cards - I painted the lighter ones which brought them to be a good match for the Recaros.

Gti Se half-leather seats with dark blue Austin Metro Clubman carpet. Dash is an Austin metro Blue Clubman dash modded to take Rover dash surround and R114gsi wood cappings. Fitted aftermarket blue illuminated lighter to replace the orange one.

Regular Posts: 152 | So are the frames from standard metro seats able to fit on the recaro 820 seats? Also what do people do with the rear seats, as i presume the rear seat out of the 820 does not fit the metro
