LOOOOONNNNNNGGG TIME nothing has happened!

but i did fit my new wings from pietaster, they were in much better condition that mine, but need a touch up here and there.

anyway, old ones:

NEW ONES:

As you can see the old wing has done some damage to the a pilla because it was positioned incorrectly but now the shut lines are as perfect as i could get them!

fitted a new exhaust FINALLY because it was the only thing letting the car down... but here it is, a cherrybomb from minimadcraig.

Nice to see you put those wings to use, think the rest of the car they came from is a bean tin now so good to know parts of it still live on!

Hahaha, ill look after it mate, i painted it silver because i thought red might look a bit odd with my colour scheme.
Plus it acts as a extra rust proofing

yeah thanks again matt, as you can see the car really needed the new wings.

Surprisingly it makes the revs alot more free it seems!

i did however manage to strip a thread putting it on, need to re-thread it. How would i do that?

which thread, the stud, bolt or the one in the head? if its either of the first two get a new one, or if it the one in the head youll need to helicoil it.

Is that the 8v Janspeed manifold? Does it make any difference to performance George?

you will need a M10(think this is the right size will check when i get home) helicoil set, in the set you'll get a drill bit, tap, the helicoils and insert tool and punch. if the head is still on the car youll need to take the front bumper and rad off the car. Then using the supplied drill bit, you drill the hole with the buggered thread oversize, then use the supplied tap to cut a new thread. then using the insrt tool insert the helicoil into the newly cut thread, then punch the little tab off the back of the helicoil and there you have a new thread.
the only hard bit is making sure you drill he hole square and dont drill too far into the head

the kit will probably come with insructions, ill try and find a link to a good quality set when i get home.

either that or take the head off, you need to get on the hole square with a drill.
also just double checked and the exhaust studs are M10 x 1.5

This is what had to be done when Lball and Pietaster came over to mine and did my old 1.4 16v head.

for those asking what this manifold is...

its a Janspeed 8v manifold, fits the 1.4 and 1.1 8v engines.

i probably have one of the only ones left (or so I'm told)

Thats only because everyone else scraps the manifold with the engine when they go 16v
Looks good though, any noticeable improvement? And does it go 4-2-1 or standard 4-1?

Get the 160 in, you must be nearly there with parts needed.

i know i need to get the 160 in now, but its all on the insurance, if i find one cheap enough... its full steam ahead!

performance wise, not a whole lot but it does free up the revs gains a little push up around 3k and sounds REAL throaty. (at least i think so

btw its a 4-2-1.

not much to mention, put some white wing mirrors on. Prefer them white looks more 'flush'.

Engine conversion update:
Recently picked up a Type A LSD gearbox from p319 Hok, (Tom) for a good price plus a few goodies!
Painted it, just waiting to put some more lacquer on it and
that will be ready to be stored to be eventually put on the car.... LOL
