It always gets asked when people join up and I was feeling a bit bored so thought I'd write a quick guide for it :bowling:

I reckon this is prob the easiest way and also saves space on the forum with uploading pics as well - please add comments if you think I missed something out :D

Resizing Large Pics

If you have massively sized pics from your digital camera you'll need to resize them. You can do this with Paint but the results don't always looks too good so try PIXresizer from http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm - it's really easy to use and free as well. Choose a pic size around 800x600, which shows up well on the forum without people needing to scroll across too much

- click load in the PIXResizer window and browse to where you've stored your image
- type a size in the next section e.g. 800x600
- choose JPEG for file format
- click save and put the file wherever you want ready for uploading

Uploading Your Photos \ Videos

Go to http://www.photobucket.com/ and create a new account

Upload your pics on Photobucket using the buttons on the page (you can do videos as well)

****ADDITIONAL GUIDE WRITTEN BY Eddbmxdude*****

Step 1.
Go to photobucket and sign up. Once you have signed up, login and click on 'My albums'

Step 2.
You will now go to your album. Click on 'Choose files'(Circled in red).

Step 3.
A box will pop up. Browse to the file you want to upload and highlight it. You can select more than one file by holding down shift. Then click 'Open'(Circled in red).

Step 4.
The file will start uploading, just wait for it to finish.

Step 5.
Once the file has finished uploading you will automatically be taken to the album where it has been uploaded to. The photos appear as small thumbnails and the most recently uploaded ones are at the top. Click once in the bottom box beneath the picture you want to use (Circled in red). The box has 'IMG Code' next to it. When you click the box the code will automatically be copied.

Step 6.
Then all you have to do is paste the code into the Metropower reply box and type your message.

Voila!

Hope that helps.
Edd

Putting The Images Into a Thread

Under each photo you upload on Photobucket there's 3 boxes. If you click once inside the box with "img" next to it the code gets selected. Copy and Paste this into your thread wherever you want the pic et voila :D

ImageShack is also very useful for hosting, and doesn't require you to sign up.

If your hosting from your own personal space like i do then:

Add those brackets around the address that the picture is linked too.

Depends on the browser to some extent I'd guess...

if that is 640x480 it can't be 72dpi.. - unless i'm zoomed in..

on screen a 640x480 image at 72dpi should be 6"x4" on screen

What does dpi mean? It was a photo taken on my phone and was at 1944 x 2592 and resized to 480 x 640. I can resize down to 240 x 320 if this would make it smaller? Sorry, im not very computer literate, im best with spanners.
Edit.. Just found out i can crop pics to 6 x 4 if that would make any difference? Might just have a little play about when i get round to my journal. Thanks
