me and my girlfriend took the 998 a-series to Ikea the other day to purchase a lot of stuff.

We managed to fit us two in the car together with 3 bathroom cupboards and their doors, 2 kitchen cupboards and their doors, one giant mirror 160cm x 75cm, 2 roller storage things and 5 baskets, 2 extra cupboard doors, 2 desks, two office chairs, and some smaller stuff.
but that is all that it can hold there was not room for any more stuff and the metro was even slower than usual on the way home. I very much doubt that I would have been able to fit all this stuff in the rover 400.

Apologies for the crappy phone pics:

You can fit an amazing amount of stuff in, its just a shame the boot lip is so high as it can make unloading a laugh, on their own ive had a washing machine and a fridge in the car with ease, a 42 inch tv in its box, also used to take my race bike everywhere in my my metro and it was easier to get two race bikes and the two of us in a metro than either my new Frog or my old astra H 5dr !

I know how it works. you place things on top of it and they become clean and move to your drawer

I killed my new built A series engine, so we took the K series Metro for a four week trip to Portugal, where we did one week of surfing.
6,5 k km with roof tent, two bicycles and fully loaded. Surprisingly I only filled up the oil once and had no problems.
Even the fuel consuption was very acceptable: Most of the time around 38mpg, butI was really driving carefully.
The roof tent is very comfortable. It only takes a minute to fold it up and one can leave the matress and sleeping bags up there.
Glad my parents bought it with a land rover around 20 years ago.
On the last picture you can see the next task on the list. I'll have to weld a side pannel in it...
