Great progress mate. Where did you get your fuel pump from? Is it a rover 200 one?

My fuel pump is a walbro fuel pump mate purchased from eBay. And yes buddy exhaust is a piper system, have no idea what it's going to sound like though!!

Hi guys, got some more done on the car Saturday afternoon before it pissed down...
Thought I'd just finish the prepping of the front end, finished it in rust primer (I used a heck of a lot
Of costs) so I do hope I don't see any rust for a few years!! I've now sprayed the front end in a high build primer and was wonsering if I can put colour straight onto it? Or shall I go over it all again in normal grey primer?? Anyone able to help? Here's a few pics...

So that's how the engine bay is at the moment, I need to remove the heater matrix and pull the rest of the loom through to finish it off.
Can I spray colour straight onto that high build primer after I give it a go ofer with wet and dry??

Also painted the gearbox and put it in the subframe until the engine is ready.
Today I will be changing the clutch and flywheel on the 1.8 turbo engine and I'll try and get the block sprayed up and bolted into the subframe with the gearbox!!
Things are starting to come together now

Hopefully get the engine gearbox and subframe back in the car with it all painted up by next weekend!!

Right hi guys!! Reviving this thread due to me finally getting a job and being employed thanks to Darren! The Gti 1.8t conversion shall carry on and will be going to Sean for welding soon!

I've just purchased some new flywheel and clutch bolts so I can fit the flywheel and clutch, then bolt it all up to the gearbox and subframe!

Things should start picking up very soon now after it being sat in the garage for so long!!
