Hi guys thanks for the welcome i will be posting some pics later , the engine going in is out of a calibra / cavalier turbo but i will be running a four speed box with a quaife diff the reason for running four speed is for the wider ratio this will help keep some traction and also gives a bit more room . The front suspension is also quite trick in the fact ive adapted a system used on the latest focus rs called revoknuckle which also assists torque steer and grip and it works cos i have a focus rs so thought itd be good to adapt on to a metro ))

In the near future another project is on the drawing board some time ago i broke my saphire 4x4 cossie to build a kit car but now have decided to make a cossie metro which is easier than it sounds as i will be welding in the complete floor plan and run the sierra rear end but utilise metro front ive done it on a ford ka so no prob in a metro .

You guys may think im nuts but i love metro's and its time they were in the spotlight for some wild conversions and at some point i will be doing other engine conversions that will allow other guys like yourselves to buy the conversions if anyone should want to maybe put some sudjestions what maybe you would like to see power a metro and i will investigate .

I have my own engineering company which runs itself and leaves me time to play and create some fun stuff so any ideas welcome guys )

I would also like to add that if anyone has ongoing projects or require anything making or need help feel free to msg me or ask as i can make pretty much anything and find it all very interesting and i will more than likely charge u for just the materials used please dont think i know it all and genuinely would help anyone out , the other thing i will add is my back ground is building race engines for historic f1 and rally cars so if anyone requires engine help rebuilds , tuning or machining faccillities my workshop caters for it and cost would be at a minimum i charge mates for example £20 for a crank grind £50for rebores € 30 crank grind and 200 for a 4 cyl build up which includes everything balanced .

I LIKE! brilliant, but why not do a honda 4WD rather than a cossie setup, leaves more room and lighter? i have been looking into this recently, the CRV drive train can be built to withstand 500lbs torque in a 1200kg+ car.

where abouts are you from? i would love to see all the pics from your builds as i love this type of build.

Hi mate lots of reasons for using a cossie mainly cos ive got it sat there but its pennies to get what power u want its super reliable ive had a number of cossies over the years and are a fab engine plus not that heavy they are 120 kg with box

Some pics of the subframe in build with lower wishbones and the vauxhall lump with a manifold i made to tuck the turbo tighter to the engine plus it looks neater

sounds like an absolute dream job you have. a shame all of us cant have a job like that
also amazing services you offer! your experience in engineering is very interesting.

I have several metro projects. but if I had the money I would start by building a full on btcc metro turbo a-series engine for my a-series hill climb car. next thing would be a high compression, mild-cammed, fuel injected, 998cc with engine management to try and get very high mileage out of it

All my familly were engineers my old man was a gear cutter in bristol then had his own car garage mainly looking after bristol city football players cars lots of lotus cortinas and all the other nice motors of the day i believe my old man was one of the first to put a 911 motor in a beetle, as for me i started my own engineering company about ten years ago and do a huge ammount of different stuff mainly offshore boats with wild engines and when building them it has to be perfect as they are always flat out for long periods of time they get the equivalent of driving from southampton to scotland on the rev limiter so they get built strong and no corners cut and alongside that i bud alot of old f1 engines for guys that do the historic racing , but now my guys run the shol and i get to play so anyone that needs help or engine advice ill be glad to help and like i said its more of a bit of fun than making money aslong as it doesnt make me lose money itll be charged at materials and a touch of labour which mostly will be very little .

Going on to your ideas dotmatrix , fuel injection and general engine management is something ive been involved with in a real technical level from ancient to most up to date but all id advise especially on the a series is keep it simple and it will work a treat we all know the prob with a seriex injection is the fact of two inlets for four pots however there are many ways around it obviously single point but in my eyes its pointless there is little gain to be had apart from slightly better consumption and maybe smoother running my idea would be to use a system on some 2 stroke outboards off boats in the latter years to comply with emmisions law and it consists of an injector directly in to the cylinder running at around 700 psi to atomise it perfectly it uses a normal elec pump to supply fuel to a mechanical belt driven pump then thst puts the pressure sky high obviously these injectors are special but the whole system is cheap and contralble from a laptol to create a map for your engine and really simple and it could easilly be used on an a series .
