I've been meaning to start a thread on this Gta for a couple of weeks now. But after swapping my broken Nightfire and some money, I bought this very clean Gta Metro from R100_VVC (Sean) and Daz111 (Darren). I'm very happy with it, and this is the one I shall be keeping for as long as possible!

The plans for this one at the moment are subtle at the moment. And here they are:
Repair dent on rear quarter on the passenger side
Sort the little specks of rust
Get the head gasket changed, as unknown of when it was last changed
Put front and rear anti roll bars on.

The aim is to keep the car as original as possible. I may in the future, put a new exhaust system on it, to give the car a little grumble, but I haven't decided yet.

Well I must say, it's been a while since I've been on here. Been caught up with work and things. Also, I took her for a long drive from Kent to Somerset, to join my mate on his holiday, and I must say she drove like a dream! Did not overheat, did not miss a beat, nothing. I loved every minute of it! But here is some pictures of my car, of how it currently is at the moment. Just a couple of slight changes, new rear R100 lights, and it has been lowered. It did have MPi alloy wheels on, with wider tyres, but one morning I got up, drove down the road, and realised one tyre had a puncture, so I've gone back to the original alloys.
Just a couple more things to buy for my car, to tidy it up a bit, and give it the roar it requires
Rear Quarter Panel
A New Exhaust System, from the centre to back
Get it painted in original white GTa paint.

Ok, so it's been a while again updating my car. But I have been thinking, what can I do to be different. And now here are the new plans for my loved GTa. And I have started the shopping, I have nearly bought everything to finish the look of my GTa, I don't know if it's been done, probably has, but hey, why not give it a go.

Right so the look im going for is a GTa-i look. The things I have bought:
Front GTi bumper with white splitter
Front and rear polybushed anti roll bars
GTi grooved brakes and calipers
After market black and red leather steering wheel

All I need now:
White GTi side skirts
GTi MPi alloys

It's going to look like a GTi, but have the heart of a GTa. Opinions please, good or bad. I think it will look alright and different. Then in January, it's going for rust treatment, then I am still deciding whether to do an engine change or not.

I personally love the look of the car as it is now, I'd trade in a heartbeat. Definatley engine swap as that's my plan too.

Doesn't it already have a front arb with it being a mk3 gta? Gta's look mint! Think it's the decals that finish them off.
Nice subtle mods. I think Itl look nice with gti skirts and splitter. Look forward to seeing more.

Leave it looking as is.

My white 94/M GTa didn't have a front anti roll bar, so I think it's just those that came on 185 cross section tyres.

No this one didn't come with a front one, so I've bought both front and rear. I don't want to do stupid mods to it, but things I can take back off if I decided to sell the car, I can put it back to original without worrying . I've started rebuilding a sub frame for my VVC 160 engine to sit on, but I'm not sure with to change the engine, in case I have to change it back for any reason. I think id rather put my VVC in a metro shell, where I wouldn't have to worry about ruining its originality. Still deciding on that yet lol.

No David, there is a place on the isle of sheppey that's going to pull all the dents out, sort all the rust out, and respray the worst places in the same colour for £275, which I didn't think was bad.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since being on here so I thought I'd giv everyone a bit of an update. So although not a lot has changed, I have fitted a sportex exhaust system on, decatted. No longer going to transform to a vvc due to the fact I now have another project for the missus, and to be honest, I think it being a GTa, it would be best to leave it as it maybe worth something later in life, so I am leaving it subtle. But I do have a GTi body kit to fit to it, to make it look a bit smarter, the rust needs treatment, which will be done soon hopefully, then it will be just left as it is.

But also at the moment, it's in a garage having the clutch repaired. So it will be back on the road later this week I hope!

Glad you've still got this! Any recent pics? Please do keep the gta alloys. They look soo much like comps but in the right size for a metty.
