(This may not be the right place to post this....) Do any of the audiophiles out there know what 90s period 12inch Sub woofer would match my new amp?

Bloody hell!!
Alpine V12 series... straight out of my Max Power youth! lol

Finding a 20 year old sub in perfect working condition could be a problem!!
I'd go for new, plain looking, and poss add the 'Alpine' or 'Rockford Fosgate' logo to the centre?
Not much else springs to mind from that period, not knowing what it looked like anyway!?!

I'd buy a new alpine sub the design side of things hasn't changed much

I wasn't planning to go in this direction, as far as car audio. But the v12 is too cool not to be on display. I might just keep my fingers crossed and see what turns up.

This will have to do until I can find a matching Alpine subwoofer.

Slowly reassembling the engine as time allows.

It's been a bit warm and summery around here, so progress has been slow. I have managed to locate a new clutch here in NZ.

Great work you are doing with the turbo.
I owned a mk3 turbo back in 1989 brilliant little car BUT the turbo really missed having an intercooler fitted.
Mine would run superb in the winter months but in the summer it was really lumpy.
Would be interesting to see what difference an intercooler would do.

I don't really intend doing any modifications as such to her, it is not in keeping with the ethos of the project.

Stage 1 is to get her going again as a nineties survivor with a few period add ons.

Thanks for your interest.

Do you have a link to the door seal with the dimensions shown?
Mine are now an oval section, and not even close to creating a seal!

Was going to look for oversized seal to redo both doors and the tailgate...
all 3 leak on my car now apparently, which led to some corrosion.

It is a little tight at the moment but will hopefully settle. (it is the same as what was fitted)

Thanks, I count myself as fortunate to even have it in my possesion. I certainly can't wait to drive it again.

What are your thoughts, with regards to steering wheels?

Do I have a stab at restoring this one - it has a wee sliver hanging off on the front side that I can probably glue up. Other than that it is just moldy and dirty. It's a little discoloured also.

Or, I have this one. I would just tidy up the plastic stitching. It has a 90s feel, I'm just not sure though.

As your going so well with the restoration I'd be inclined to go for the original look. What is the condition of the one with brown cover on it?

The brown one is covered with black insulation tape, I won't dare pull that apart. I shall have a go at tidying the standard one next......... Watch this space.

I picked up these on the weekend, they were donated to my cause. The owner had purchased them as nose cuts for Mini donor engines. I am still unsure what usable parts I will get from them.

Some custom design work on the Red one. (Unicorn) I think the Burgundy one in the above picture may have been a Vanden plas. photo 20160221_181320.jpg

Vac'd down and pumped up the suspension yesterday. Using an old fridge compressor and a brake master cylinder - (Kiwi ingenuity at its finest). Ready to run the old girl into work for a date with the gantry crane.
