Member Posts: 46 Location: Southy Coast | Hi Everyone, Ive managed to get my 1.8 mpi (mems 1.9, 120bhp) engine into my 1.1 SPI metro with the ecu and 5as and its all wired up ready to go but there is no power to the starter and the oil light is constantly on :( Any top tips on what I may have got wrong? Do I need a converted loom? Heres a picture of the beast. Everyone loves a picture! TIA Martin Edited by martin_bmth 22/8/2016 8:11 PM

Member Posts: 46 Location: Southy Coast | Just to clarify: The oil light is constantly on from when you connect the battery, it doesnt even need keys in the ignition. Help please

drive it like its hired | Its not really a standard problem. You must have a back feed somewhere and have got the wiring wrong. Do you have the Mpi mfu.

Member Posts: 46 Location: Southy Coast | A fusebox change and things are more predictable now! The temp gauge doesnt seem happy, It ou ground the wiring connector the needle fluctuates so the wire is good. Swapped the temp sensor for a "known good" sensor but it still doesnt read when you put it together.... weird. Any ideas?

Member Posts: 46 Location: Southy Coast | Its a standard engine loom for the engine (out of the mgf it came from). While i think about it the spi metro rad fan was connnected via the body loom. With the new engine its plugged in from the engine loom. Works fine.
