Hi guys new to the forum but thought i would start a thread on my build. Its my first build/conversion so hopefully this forum can help me out if i get stuck
Heres my 2 cars i have had since i past my test

Rover 214si
GAZ coilovers, BRM cosmos alloys, angel eyes with xenon's, R25 mirrors, smoothed grill.

After the rover i got a zr 160 which i currently have

GAZ coilovers, 4-2-1 janspeed manifold, Decat, straight through middle section and janspeed twin back box, ITG maxogen and piper exhaust cam.

Now for the engine i purchased

I also have all the hubs, upper and lower arms ecu 5as.
Hope fully tomorrow i can get the engine out of the subframe and begin to chop bits off. Plans for the engine are to rebuild it and strip the performance parts from the zr and use them with this engine. I dont currently have a metro but once the engine is done and i see one i like i will get one maybe a gti

Spent a couple of hours today on the project

whipping out the engine, those bolts where bloody tight air gun is such a life saver.

engine out

frame stripped and bits cut off.
Next weekend will probably be the next time i get time to do anything, needs a bit of fettling, wire brushing and then painting.

I have put a tf frame in my metro, i would get some lowering springs for it as the standard tf shocks make the front end sit way too high

Yeah I came up with the idea of the spacers. They raise the arm 10mm and move it forward 20mm

Gave the subby its final coat this weekend looks a lot better.
Also received my head gasket set so cracked on with the strip down.

Didnt get really far couldnt get the bottom pulley off, so i just strip the loom off and some pipes.
I also noticed the exhaust manifold gasket is bigger than the ports but matches up with the exhaust, any one matched them up is it worth doing? its the same on the inlet aswell.

Mike @ MGWRacing has done mine, ive done it before and its alot better as all the hole match and smoother Few members will tell you on here as im sure they have done it, also the VVC Inlet doesnt line up with the ports on the Head so you need to make sure they all match up

I noticed the inlet goes from big to small on the head with a few mm step, if a put on the gasket and use a marker to draw on the head and removed the gasket would give me what needs to be removed.
