Well I've been in the garage again today

Wilwood Dynalite 2 on mgf disc

Fitted to the car, the bracket is going to be a pain in the arse but it will be worth it. Need to sit the caliper as close to the disc as possible, really neat inside the wheel - I used so kitchen roll folded over to trial fit it

Finished of both sides of the firewall/bulk head steel panelling - just tacked in at the mo, need to get the bodywork off get it all done - won't be long now till I can undress it again

Nearside rear arch now welded on and extended at the front - not looking forward to the amount of filler I'm going to have to use though

And I've decided I'm going to move the fuel tank back, will move the weight rearward but also make it easier to fill , downside got to get some box section and redo that section of the rear frame

Why not make/use a filler neck that will allow to tank to be fitted further forward for better
weight distribution and protection?, plus it will be out of the way if you are rear ended.

The tank won't be quite that far back, but the goal is to move the weight back not forward. I have tried to move as much weight rearward and to the left as I can to get better balance in the car.

4 hours later the engine bay bulkhead is done.

Welded a 25mm strip along the base of the windscreen to give me a vertical edge to fasten the ally to and another strip tacked to the frame.

Ally panel 'fitted' and trimmed, couldn't find my Clecos so had to use some small screws to hold it in place - not ideal but it did the job. It will be riveted on with 1" spacing.

Undressed the car last weekend to enable finishing off the chassis and fitting all components.

Fuel tank repositioned, mount for fuel pump fabricated and fuel pump plumbed in. I was going to go AN-8 all the way through, but will drop supply to AN-6 & return will be AN-8 due to space issues. Just have to order some more ally pipe & fittings ??.

Seat mounting brackets now welded in. Not happy with steering wheel position now the seat is bolted on so playing around with its position.

Got the dash in today, but ran out of tube. Next task in this area is a switch panel.

Made the frame for the switch panel today. The panel in the pics is a quick mockup.

Just out of interest have you had an MSA Scrutineer check over the car now and again as you build it? Also what regs are you building too? Just thinking it would make sense to check now rather than getting it to a race and they aren't happy with it. (Seen it happen)
