Posts: 2794 Location: Tamworth/Measham | Hello peepz, i brought a brand new Nikon S4000 12mp camera last month and only just had a go, as my phone camera is absolutly pants and cant see any details and its quolity is poor, now i know the pictures have to be 100kb or Less, and i brought it as when i start my build properly i wona get decent and much better quolity pictures instead of blurry 1's Now i tried resizing 1 picture i took and tried to do it with Photobucket but it resizes it to 800x600 but its still 160kb i wona keep the picture size big enuf to see it and detials in the picture but want it under 100kb to upload them.... Can someone please help me Thanks Edited by Turley_vvc 8/6/2011 8:02 AM

Lotus powered R100 MP Admin Location: Torbay, South Devon, UK | Photobucket will resize to what you tell it (default 768 x 1024 pixles) & only if original is bigger. File size may be limited to 1MB (1000kb) If your going to be uploading loads of photo's for a journal etc. we'd rather they went to photobucket rather than uploading to here as it won't increase the size of our database & reduce page loading times. I can go through resizing with you later... which version of PS do you have?

Fish freak! MP Admin Posts: 14989 Location: Birmingham | Best bit of advice....f**k Photobucket off, its crap and drastically reduces the quality of your images, use Flickr instead. You dont need to resize images if you are hosting them somewhere else so dont worry about the file size, and with Flickr you can choose which size you want them to be displayed at but they still remain at maximum size on your photostream. Flickr can be abit confusing but ive worked my way around it so can help if you need :) Here's an example.... Photobucket: Flickr: Warfe 5 by Pandy100, on Flickr

Lotus powered R100 MP Admin Location: Torbay, South Devon, UK | Pandy - 8/6/2011 5:32 PM Best bit of advice....f**k Photobucket off, its crap and drastically reduces the quality of your images, use Flickr instead. Photobucket: Flickr: Well stone me dead! NEVER thought bucket would do that.. look at all those jaggies! Christ - If I start using flickr I might become a better photographer (or at least it will seem like it! ) I personally wouldn't upload full size images onto an external hosting site.. They should be reasonably small so that they don't eat your bandwidth allowance on the hosting site & also so that you don't have to wait two weeks for them to upload (upload speed is generaly 320kbps ish on a std. 8MB download line) if your uploading them online, to be viewed online only.. why upload a pic with enough resolution to get a decent print from? Resizing is piss easy & if done right can result in no loss of sharpness & in some cases.. extra sharpness Steph was friends with a photographer she really liked on Facebook.. we couldn't work out how the hell he was getting his images SO sharp when viewing online.. so one day she asked him.. 240dpi at desired image pixel dimensions & a 1px high pass sharpening technique before saving. Works a fooking treat! Easy enough to set up an 'action' in PS once you know what you want.

Where I quoted your pic on flickr.. I didtched the extra code they threw in, no need for it, its like an add - for them.
