Member Posts: 47 Location: Burton upon Trent | Update of my metro ownership the car I love to hate! My plans for this car are to make it a fun Track day car and a general laugh out on the open road But progress has been very slow and the car has ended up being my daily driver . But after almost two years I finally got the 1.8 engine in the car and I'm loving it. So it's about time I uploaded some photos of me getting to this point. . The first day I picked the car up from a local owner With around 56000 on the clock. The thing Sat so High up! Getting the gas out and sorting the suspension was first on the list Next I ordered a standard 1.8 mgf engine just for simplicity of fitting. he even chucked in the vvc inlet Again following that purchase and a well overdue upgrade was the brakes as they were shocking to say the least! Again I ordered so mgf vented discs and calipers And Fitted Oh and I managed to get some alloys for the car . A short time passed untill I managed to get my hands on a spoiler I picked it up and planned on fitting It straight away but tbh it needs a respray and I still haven't got around to fitting it Next I got around to fixing some of the rust patches in the wings and use some stick on black trim on the edges that hides the slight difference on colour while protecting from more stone chips and rust Fitting the mesh back into the front bumper that had been missing Then fitting a tow hook purely for looks While I slowly build a collection of parts to go into the replacement engine Next on the list of things to do was replacement wishbones and track rod ends and front knuckle joints to make sure the car was as fresh and stable as possible Next came the Sportex exhaust And work finally began on changing the engine. Firstly it has the usual done before fitting to make sure it was perfect. Got a new head gasket,plugs,leads,distributor,cambelt/water pump, clutch and I think that was everything . . All this was finally finished last week and I'm very happy with it . I would just like to add a few more things to make myself happy with it Lastly this weekend it covered around 500 miles upto the lake district trouble free!!! And it snowed!! The skoda fabia splitter did well not to break hitting the amount of frozen lumps of snow it hit! Edited by rovertaken37 14/12/2015 9:48 PM

Member Posts: 47 Location: Burton upon Trent | Sadly no I've got the car on ebay at the moment it's become a little less practical to my needs . I put a deposit down on a Bigger French car earlier today and went about listing the metro on ebay
