Bought this in December last year, its been off the road since 2006. Believe it or not only done 15000 miles. I was hoping to just to give a quick once over and m.o.t but turned out a bit more then a quick service as the seller off ebay described. Runs sweet as a nut, brakes work, interior is clean and body is pretty good. I removed all the sound deadening off the floor which showed the rust that needed attention. I think I can safely say its sat outside since 2006 making the floor pan is what it is. Getting there slowly, passenger side is now fully welded and de rusted as much as I can, will give it a good paint up then move onto the drivers side which is in a lot better condition

Cheers. Just a tidy up, RGM front splitter and a set of wheels like your blue metro and get it fairly low

I got it abit more done tonight. Good covering of anti rust primer on all of the areas on the passenger side.

if you are very keen on keeping it rust free you could consider removing the front wing and covering it in waxoil on the backside of the wing, specifically on the lower back corner of the wing where it "sandwiches" with the car.

Nearly there, floor is complete (sorry didn't take many more of the floor)

Painted the main floor except the boot floor as no welding was required back there thank god

RGM splitter fitted nicely, I will be painting the grey bumpers black to match.
Waxoly'd the shit out of it, (see it dripping out of all drain holes)

Had a lot of surface rust around fuel filler which I ground back to bare metal, smoothed the pitted metal and painted
whilst I was at I rolled the arches, starting to look well for a nearly 30 year old tro

nice work you are doing, it will be a really good car I'm sure.
they often rust behind the filler neck always rust, most of my a-series are a bit rusty there I bought a cheap sand blasting kit and blasted those rust pist in various places. I hope that and appropriate painting will make the rust stay away for longer

front splitter looks really really cool. where did you get that?

how did you paint it, rattle cans or a paint gun? did you give it a clear coat after?

It should be staying at one angle from now on marv.
Yes was rattle cans but good quality cans that I had the paint mixed up to match, no laquer just 2000 grit wet sanded
The whole rear quarter and machine polished

Been looking for a set of wheels for a while, wanted a set that didn't poke out the arch but sit near flush.
So found mini sportpack wheels which are 13 x 6 with offset et21.7
I had to cut the lugs off the cars hub face as the mini wheels are a small bore

looks really good. a while ago there was a beige car on here also with those wheels.
be carefull that the wheels on the front don't catch the front corner of your arch and bend it up into the inner wing, my superlights once did this
are you using spacers or coopers drums or something on the back?

Thanks, yeah im very happy with the look no spacers on the rear either.
