Expert Posts: 2568 Location: Up in the lakes | I tried a few years ago to get / salvage/ straighten rub strips. Turned out okay but unless you can get a full set new I skype bother. If im doing it again il go the route tom went with his vinyl rub strips. Look good and saves a bit of weight.

Elite Veteran Posts: 703 Location: New Milton, Hampshire | I've been thinking about finding a company to make some replicas Probably without the metal lining Need to pop round to a few rapid prototyping If someone had CAD files it would be much easier but I'm guessing they never leaked out from Rover.

Expert Posts: 1228 | Didn't Talon have sets minus one bit advertised some months back? I asked about them but got no reply. May be worth getting in touch

Elite Veteran Posts: 703 Location: New Milton, Hampshire | I'm pretty sure it's possible to make up a full set by using several European dealers but you;'re looking at £30/40 a piece

Regular Posts: 126 | If anyone wants to provide a set i can make the CAD models no problem, I can get things rapid prototyped or tooled in china aswell but the quantity would justify the expense i would think.

Regular Posts: 126 | Not sure who the reply is to, for CAD, if they are flat and i have the section drawn correctly then i can simply extrude the length (If they are supposed to be flat/straight) i can then add the chamfers etc.

I know scanners are becoming more common and obviously if you scanned mine the new ones would be just as bad, I have no problem with them being solid plastic either Edited by pqhf5kd 22/1/2013 7:36 PM
