Between your weight and the excess weight in your car it was all probably equal to my weight so don't be using that as an excuse

Yay, bought the red gti project from the for sale section.

Just hope I've not bitten off more than I can chew

Will get pics up tomorrow hopefully and get stuck in

Even if it is an absolute rot box at least you have all the gti performance parts that can be added to a cleaner shell and you'l get a bit of money back weighing in the rest. I got £80 for a shell with no engine, wheels, brakes, bumpers, bonnet and interior. It'd probably cost more than the whole lot cost you just to source the gti parts.
Are you planning on keeping the pump?
Keep us updated,

Adam

Ding, you strike me as the forum pervert

Well these cars are quite addictive, I've got the red gti but I'm itching to drive a vvc so I stuck a last minute bid on one on eBay and won it . Oops

Will hopefully arrange to collect this week coming

Erm no, I'm quite happy for you not to sit outside my window,

Any thoughts on the green car?

Oh dear, it's gone from bad to worse

Green isn't my first favourite but I realised how long the red one is going to take to get on the road and I'm impatient

Aha, the green 100 is a good shell bodywork wise. I went over to sort the wiring out on this car earlier this year and ended up doing a full loom conversion as somebody had carried out a very poor first attempt on it. Needed some tidings up in the engine bay but a good buy with the R888 tyres. Certainly a better starting point than the Red GTi.

A girl with 2 VVC tros...you're gonna be very popular round here Fancy a track day...you've got the tyres for it!

Hi Adrian, thanks for the reply, I thought with 11 months test and the toyos etc it was worth a shot at £700, and yes I plan to do some track days, hoping to pick up a cage and at least with this one I get on track this year

Thought should update this that the red gti is in the process of being broken, the good news is I now have the green one back with added oomph.

When I got it it was not running correctly and the engine appeared to have been bodged in.

Took the car to an old friend Goldie at ZRed (was on here with white knight)

He fixed the car and checked it all over for me and done quite a few jobs i didn't have the knowledge/time to do with work etc.

It got a new engine loom, 52mm tb, 160 air box, upgraged to mems3, zr160 manifold, new belt and water pump, oil and filter change and tons of other bits I can't remember off hand. Excellent job and great prices, he often has many spares in stock if anyone needs anything

I'm blown away with the performance of the car now, it even better than I imagined,

Next up with be getting the gti bits on and sorting the suspension as it's standard just now and crap

Will get some pics up soon but needless to say I love it

Sounds like a good project, look forward to seeing the pictures.

If we ever have a race meeting at knockhill you'll have to come down, we could do with more pit babes!

I will try and make any events at knockhill, once the suspension is sorted I quite fancy a track day in it, keep me posted with any Scottish dates

Cheers
