Hi guys. a friend of ours has a Rover Metro 1.1 on a Jreg

The have just had the head gasket replaced and altough she ticks over perfectly when you try to rev the engine she bogs down and will cut out if you leave your foot planted, however if you let off the accelerator the revs pick up again and runs spot on. Any ideas ?

I'd disconnect and reconnect the ECU plug a few times and see if anything changes.

Don't the 1.1 carb models have a vacuum advance for the distributor?

Could check all of the vacuum lines to and from that, the air box and the ecu.
