Hey guys in need of help currently having trouble with n engine swap.
We have got swapped the 1.4 8v mpi engine out of the metro and put in a same year 1.8 mgf engine and we can't get a spark!?!?
We have fitted the ecu and the 5as black box under the glove box and the Fobs are working but included with the black box was another small white box saying Lucas on it and for the life of me we can't find where this goes and if it's an I mobiliser problem?

Its the alarm volumetric sensor, nothing to do with sparks.

You need: ecu and matched alarm and fob(s) and mfu unit, its a small black relay pack with a number on the back:
YWB 100710, this is a common unit fitted to any MPi rover 100, I take it that the swap is from a MGF, not a TF?,
if its from a TF, the mfu you need will be a YWB 100970 and not the YWB100710.

All from a 98 mgf
Engine ,fob,black 5asbox
The keys work and unlock the car and it turns over but with no spark.
but after spending all night googling I think the problem I have is the Flywheel.
I got with the engine a 1.6 flywheel that I was told needed to be changed over. It was only a two pole flywheel and the one I took off the original engine and new engine are 4 pole .
So I think the Flywheel maybe the issue

You need the 4 pole flywheel, it has the same pattern as the mgf PG1 flywheel, if using a R65 box, you can use any 1.4 R100 MPi, but not a 1.1 as that flywheel will only take the smaller 180mm clutch, the 1.4 will take a 190mm and the 200mm clutch, the MG 1.4 and 1.6 clutch kits are commonised to 200mm dia.
