The clutchs should be the same as I don't think there were any differences between teh 1100 and 1400 clutchs, if there is it will only be that the clutch plate itself will be slightly thicker.

As Matt says they are just slightly thicker, will fit just the same

Interesting, so does this mean that the clutch for a 214 will fit the r100 or metro? and if so would there be any advantage, just so happens i have a clutch in my shed for a 214 and my metro's clutch is slipping.

Just check the diameter. I think they are different.
When I put the 1.4 engine in my Ascot about 3 years ago I kept my box and changed the clutch assy.
I am sure the 1.4 was bigger and more importantly the mounting points for the diaphram.
Yes - just checked my Rover manual
1.1 180mm
1.4 190mm
Also checked EPC
Two flywheels for Metro/R100 - 1100 - 1400 (well there is three actually but the first is
for earlier cars - 1100 again- no reluctor ring)
