Dont know about the bushes but you used to be able to buy an "ultimate engine steady" bar for the Metro from avonbar, goes between the top of the head and the bulkhead, makes an amazing difference as there is no rock when coming on and off the power.

You could make one up from an SPi Mini one but you would probably only get it to fit a 1275 as it bolts to the thermostat housing which is the same on the Metro as it is on the SPI Mini 1275, the 998 has different spacings on the housing so there is probably no way to fit it to a 998 Metro.

Get an old tyre and a knife, ram as mnuch tyre rubber into the gaps in the mounts as possible, then stuff any remaining little gaps and seal it all with good silicone/polyurathene. I did it, it worked, instantly noticeable. Launching is much better, on and off the power smoother, wheel hop reduced, just a few more vibes at idle.

Avonbar still do the engine steady for the Metro. I don't know of anywhere that sell polyurethane mounts off the shelf, but they could probably be made to order.

I've been wondering the same for my K series, I could do with some stiffer mounts, on sticky tyres the engine seams to move A LOT

mmm,

I may get some polyurethane & machine some up, it's not that difficult to machine.

If you're going to make some solid poly mounts Mark i'd still be interested.
